WASHINGTON, D.C — In response to the news that 16 generic drug companies are being investigated as part of an antitrust lawsuit alleging price fixing, Patients For Affordable Drugs Executive Director Ben Wakana issued the following statement:
“Price fixing by generic manufacturers is illegal, and patients are suffering because of rising prices. Attorneys general must fully investigate this matter, and if these price fixing charges prove true, drug company CEOs must be held accountable. Regardless of the outcome, this case underscores how greedy drug corporations are abusing our system and ripping off patients. It needs to change.”
